  • Murder
  • First-degree burglary

What police allege

Police said that on Oct. 8, Gee broke into the victim’s home in the 100 block of Brook Pines Drive, at the Brook Pines Apartments, and shot him in the upper body.

The Richland County Coroner identified the victim as Lawrence Long Jr., 30. He died after being taken to a hospital.

Investigators said Gee and Long were in a romantic relationship. Police have not said what may have led to the shooting, and the investigation into the motive is continuing.

Jail status

Gee was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Thursday, Oct. 29. As of Friday, she remained jailed with no bond set.

The charges are accusations, and Gee is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
