A 55-year-old man died and two other people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Orangeburg County on Wednesday morning, Nov. 4.
Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle identified the man who died as Roger Salley.
The crash happened around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 178 and Heartsfire Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a 2018 Ford F-150 heading east on U.S. 178 collided with a 2011 Cadillac Escalade heading west at the intersection.
The driver of the pickup was alone and was taken to a hospital. Two people were in the Cadillac, and both were taken to a hospital as well. Salley, who was one of them, later died from his injuries. The conditions of the other two have not been released.
The Highway Patrol is still investigating and has not said what caused the crash or whether charges will be filed.
