A 36-year-old man was found shot to death inside a home in Anderson on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 29, and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office is investigating his death as a homicide.

The coroner identified him as Kenneth Andrew Latroy Lomax.

Call came in as cardiac arrest

Officials were called to a home in the 100 block of Quinn Street around 12:20 p.m. after a report of a person in cardiac arrest.

When responders arrived and began assessing the man, they discovered he had a gunshot wound, according to Anderson County Chief Deputy Coroner Don McCown. Lomax was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators remained on Quinn Street for about five hours.

No danger to the public

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting appears to be isolated to the home and that there is no immediate danger to the public.

No arrests have been announced, and officials have not said what led to the shooting.

McCown said the area has seen at least two other homicides nearby in the past two years. Lomax’s family was at the scene.

The coroner’s office and the sheriff’s office are investigating.
