A 31-year-old woman was found shot and killed Friday morning, Oct. 30, in Mauldin, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner identified her as Ivonne Lizeth Guerra Gomez.
What happened
Mauldin police and first responders were called to a shooting on Stonebriar Street around 11 a.m., the coroner said. Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released information about a suspect, an arrest or what led to the shooting. Officials said the investigation is active.
Neighbors shaken
Neighbors gathered along the street after the shooting, checking on one another. Several described Gomez as a friendly face they often saw while walking in the neighborhood.
One couple who recently moved to the area told FOX Carolina the shooting was extremely shocking and offered condolences to her family.
