Hi, and thanks for stopping by.
SC Crime Stoppers is a local news site that covers crime and public safety across South Carolina. From Greenville to Charleston, Columbia to Myrtle Beach, and all the small towns in between, we write about what’s happening in our communities so people can stay informed.
Why we started
A lot of crime news gets buried. A break-in on your street, an arrest in the next town over, a missing person case that needs attention. These stories matter to the people who live here, but they’re often hard to find or spread across a dozen different places.
We wanted one spot where South Carolinians could read about crime in their state, explained clearly and without the drama.
What we cover
- Arrests and criminal charges
- Court cases and sentencing
- Missing persons and wanted suspects
- Safety alerts and scam warnings
- Updates from local police and sheriff’s offices
How we write
We keep it simple. No confusing legal terms, no sensational headlines. Just the facts, written in a way anyone can understand.
Our articles are based on public records, police reports, court documents, and official statements. When someone is arrested or charged, we always remember that they are innocent until proven guilty in court. If a case gets dropped or someone is found not guilty, we’re happy to update the story.
Something important to know
SC Crime Stoppers is an independent news website. We are not a law enforcement agency, and we’re not connected to any official Crime Stoppers tip line program.
If you have information about a crime, please contact your local police department or sheriff’s office directly. In an emergency, always call 911.
